Ahl-e Haqq "People of Truth"

When I first listened to the music of Khalil Alinejad I felt I was thrown back to the heart of the human spirit, to the time when the heart was still undiluted, to the time when our heart and soul was still connected, to the time when music was still not tailor made for the  commerce or the intellect, but was played and sang for the heart, for the soul. It is rare now at this time to find pure music, music that is from the heart and to the heart, music that is not calculated or pretentiously over expressed or zealously marketed and imposed on the ears. Indeed, one does not need so many musical instruments to hear ones own spirit nor a perfect voice to express the heart. However, without the spirit and the heart of the listener all music will be unnecessary.

I wanted to share this music with all of you but then I felt this type of music might not be heard the same way it’s played, our hearts and ears by now have reached different cultural concept and perception on how to hear or understand music, so I gave up on the idea. But then again the music kept still coming at me and I felt I should share the beauty with you anyway.

Khalil Alinejad comes from small religious minority of Ahl-e Haqq "People of Truth" in western Iran and north east Iraq. They have great tradition in music as source of spiritual meditation and expression.

I do not speak the language but pure music is connected directly to the heart when the soul itself is listening.
